Kids & family data
A clear record. A clear responsibility.
A large share of ski lesson clients are children. This page explains, in plain English, what instructors and parents should expect.

Who uses myski.pro
myski.pro is a professional tool for adult ski instructors. It is not directed to children. Children do not create accounts, do not sign in, and do not use the app. Information about a minor is entered by an adult instructor acting in a professional capacity — it is not collected from a child online.
Permission is required, not suggested
Before recording information about a minor, the instructor must have the parent’s or guardian’s permission, plus any authority required by their ski school, resort, employer, contract, and local law. This is a condition of using myski.pro. An instructor who cannot meet it should not enter the record.
What the app actually asks for
We would rather describe the product honestly than describe an ideal. Today a skier record can hold:
- First and last name, and an exact age (the app accepts ages 2 through 99)
- A date of birth, only if the instructor chooses to enter one — it is optional
- Ability level, goals, terrain and lift preferences, risk tolerance, personality and confidence notes, food preferences, and equipment notes
- Guardian name and mobile number
- Lesson history: date, duration, terrain, drills, strengths, what to improve, and the next focus
- Safety-related free text, such as medical, allergy, or dietary notes
We are not calling that strict data minimization, because it is not. The product currently supports more identifying detail than an age-band-and-initials model would. Instructors should enter only what the lesson genuinely requires. Reducing the default identity fields is an open product decision before launch, and we would rather say that here than imply a limit that the app does not enforce.
Sensitive information
Medical, allergy, dietary, and emergency-related details exist in the product for one reason: lesson safety. They are not used for marketing, profiling, or advertising, and they are never part of any shared or family-facing artifact.
Those notes live with the instructor’s own account and are visible to that instructor. Instructors should keep them to what is genuinely needed to teach the lesson safely. myski.pro is not a medical-record system and should not be used as one.
Photos and video
The app does not capture photos or video on its own, and no media is required to create a skier record. An instructor has to deliberately attach media in a supported workflow. Camera access is otherwise used only for scanning SkiLink codes.
When lesson history is handed to another instructor, photos and videos are not included. They stay with the instructor who added them.
What parents and guardians can ask for
A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct, or delete the record about their child. Email brandonfoster@me.com with the instructor’s name and enough detail to identify the record. Please do not send unnecessary medical detail, passwords, or share links.
We aim to acknowledge a request within two business days and to complete a verified request within 30 days. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity, guardianship, or authority before disclosing or changing a child’s record — that check protects the child.
Because the instructor controls their own client records, some requests are fastest when made directly to the instructor. We will help either way. Parent accounts and direct parent sign-in are not part of the first release.
Sharing between instructors
Client records are not visible to other instructors by default. A record can move to another instructor only after someone takes an explicit sharing action through SkiLink and directs it to an intended recipient. Share links are single-purpose, expire within 24 hours, and can be revoked.
Private notes, medical notes, photos, videos, tip amounts, and instructor-only judgments are excluded from what a receiving instructor sees.
Our commitments
We do not sell personal data.
We do not run behavioral advertising.
We do not use ad networks.
We do not use client records to train models.
We do not share records between instructors without an explicit action.
The app ships without third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
How long records remain
A record stays until the instructor deletes it or deletes their account. When an instructor completes account deletion from inside the app, the synced skier profiles, lesson history, attachments, guardian details, and active sessions under that account are removed from the active service.
Some things are not pulled back automatically: copies already on an offline device, exports the instructor made, and records another instructor already received. Limited security, legal, backup, and infrastructure records may persist for their own separate purposes.
